It usually starts with a feeling—the excitement of bringing home a puppy. At Tarheel Labradoodles, our story begins well before that day. This is more than a breeding program; it's something I've poured my entire heart into.
Every parent in our program is carefully chosen and fully health-tested. When our Australian Labradoodle puppies arrive, we don't just raise them, we shape them. Through Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and gentle socialization, we're building confident, adaptable companions from the very start.
We complete thorough temperament testing to ensure every family gets the perfect fit. As proud members of the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA), we stand by our dogs with recognized registration and lifetime support. Ultimately, it's about raising a dog that will be there for your biggest moments, your quietest days, and everything in between.
How a search for the perfect family dog became a Lifelong Passion.
Our journey began the same way it does for many families—searching for the perfect dog. We wanted a companion that was non-shedding, allergy-friendly, and wonderful with young children. That search led us to the incredible Australian Labradoodle… and everything changed from there.
My passion for dogs started long before Tarheel Labradoodles. Growing up, my father was an avid coon dog hunter and breeder, and I spent countless hours at hunting events and shows alongside him. When I brought my first Australian Labradoodle home to my three young children, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to preserving, improving, and sharing this incredible breed with others.

In-home visits at 6 weeks
The moment you've been waiting for! At six weeks old, we invite you into our home for some serious puppy playtime. It’s the absolute best time to give them their first snuggles and see those sweet personalities shine in person.
Born and Raised In Our Home
When we say our home was built for our dogs, we mean it! We intentionally designed our living spaces to double as a premium, hands-on nursery. We ensure that every puppy grows up surrounded by everyday family routines, soft beds, and constant human interaction. They don't just live with us; they are part of the family from day one.
The Whelping Room
Our dedicated whelping room is designed for absolute peace, cleanliness, and comfort. This is a quiet sanctuary inside our home where mamas can safely deliver and nurse their newborns under our constant supervision during their fragile first weeks.
The Toddler Room
Once their eyes open and they find their footing, the puppies move to our interactive toddler room. Here, they are exposed to early neurological stimulation (ENS), novel textures, sounds, and safe toys to build their confidence and curiosity.
The Great Outdoors
Our expansive, securely fenced outdoor play yards are where the real fun happens! Puppies get daily outdoor time to run, play, and begin foundational concepts for potty training in the fresh North Carolina air.

I was born and raised right here in Troutman, North Carolina. While my husband hails from Buffalo (making us massive Bills fans on Sundays!), my heart will always belong to my Tarheels.
Over the last 15 years, what started as a family search for the perfect pet has blossomed into my life's work. As the current President of the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA), I am deeply committed to protecting the integrity, health, and future of this incredible breed. I believe that breeding is an art form that requires absolute dedication, transparency, and above all, an unwavering love for dogs.
